The top 10 YouTube videos of 2014
YouTube has once again released its annual list of the top-trending videos, based on the number of views, shares, comments and likes. “Mutant Giant Spider Dog” takes the crown with 113.3 million views. In second place is Nike’s short film starring Ronaldo that was created for the World Cup, clocking up 98.8 million views and the moving video, “First Kiss” by women’s clothing brand Wren is third place at 94.1 million views. Instagram beats Twitter
Instagram is now bigger than Twitter. The photo-sharing app’s growth has skyrocketed with over 300 million monthly active users sharing more than 70 million photos everyday, and an average of 2.5 billion daily “likes”. In contrast, Twitter has 284 million monthly active users. Instagram has also announced they will be introducing verified badges for celebrities and brands to prevent spam. Read more here.
