Halloween has fallen upon us once again, though this year there’s not such a bitter chill in the air following our recent warm spell! This year it’s meant to be the warmest Halloween on record. Cadbury’s Screme egg has returned, Instagram has become a haven for people to share their weird and wonderful pumpkin carvings and frankly when else will you see a pug dressed as Yoda from Star Wars? Though it seems we’re not the only ones getting creative, as brands share their spooky side. We pick our favourites…
We love this animated Vine from home improvement retailer, Lowes called #pumpkin. Simply using a bat stencil and hammer who knew pumpkin carving could be so easy? Vine is the perfect platform to bring the pumpkin to life and create an animated twist. Batman would be proud.
Fancy dress and Halloween go hand in hand. Across the pond in NYC, it appears even the Statue of Liberty is getting dressed up for Halloween, perhaps not out of choice. New Yorkers may be surprised to wake up and see the grand statue wearing a giant 60-foot bow tie. When we say ‘wearing’ we actually mean a bow tie will be hovered over the lady by helicopter. Either way she’ll be looking rather snazzy come Halloween morning. It’s all in the name of promoting new menswear brand Nick Graham who you guessed it are launching a new neckwear line.
The shrill, deafening tone of dial up internet from back in the day is enough to give anyone nightmares, so we’re a fan of Internet Explorer’s tongue-and-cheek #TBT Vine in the name of Halloween. Setting the scene in the shower, the old IE logo creeps up on the unsuspecting victim until we find out there’s actually no need to be scared as Internet Explorer 11 comes to the rescue!
Finally, what could be scarier than being confronted by Alan Sugar’s face in the form of a pumpkin? Not much. Asda created this genius pumpkin art to strike fear into trick or treaters this Halloween. We wonder what Alan has to say about the matter… You’re fired!
And if you want any tips on how to nail your own pumpkin masterpiece, check this guy out! We’re seriously impressed.
