We’re a varied bunch here at Kazoo, with our team of consultants incorporating a former soldier from the Australian army and a wannabe astronaut to name but two. And our newest recruit is set to add to this diverse mix – Jonathan Thompson, formerly the Adventure Travel Editor of Men’s Health magazine.
A long-time friend of the agency in his capacity as a journalist, ‘JT’, as we lovingly refer to him, is a regular travel and lifestyle contributor to The Guardian, The Independent, The Financial Times, Metro, Condé Nast Traveller and MSN Travel. Sitting among the team, our newest Kazooite will provide counsel on media strategies within the travel and outdoor sectors for existing clients including Cotswold Outdoor and LateRooms.com.
As with any industry, the travel sector is constantly evolving and consumer booking patterns are fluctuating based on the economic situation and emerging destination trends. And with recent figures showing that Brits are spending an average of 31 million nights away from home each year on overnight trips*, travel and leisure brands are faced with a crowded market of rival companies queuing up to capitalise on this lucrative market. Having a journalist on board will allow us to further diversify our offering and benefit our clients with some unique insights and counsel from someone that’s well embedded in the industry.
Coupling the above with Jonathan’s love of Game of Thrones, jetting off to exotic destinations and, of course, a drink or two after work, we know that this is one newbie who won’t have any problems fitting right in here at Kazoo. Welcome on board, JT!
